Looking for OCD treatments..!! | Accessing help in Canada | OCD Forum

One of my friends is suffering from getting intrusive thoughts of harm, and sad thoughts of the family passing away. I used to tell him don't dwell on them, but he said that he can't do it because it seems there is a real imbalance with the brain. He has depression, and I realized that the major issue with him is anxiety, and OCD is running his life. I asked him to get any OCD therapy treatment, but he is not ready to meet any therapist. He is taking medicines by himself through references and currently, he is taking Cipralex, which says it's for OCD and anxiety. But I think it's not working for him. I truly want to help my friend. Does anyone have any remedies that really help him to get his life back?
The fix for OCD is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT. It teaches a sufferer to think differently about their thoughts and to behave differently because of the thoughts (no compulsions).
I can't advise you on medications, as I am not a doctor. That said, Cipralex is an SSRI, which is recommended for the treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD. Usually, an SSRI is prescribed in higher doses for OCD than for general anxiety.
